PlayJam’s Stage3D Shoot-em-up

This is a sweet little game from Pawel Kwietniak at PlayJam, that again shows that Flash devs seem to really like making shoot-em-ups with Stage3D :) It runs smooth and fast on my PC at 1280 x 720 resolution. I really liked the vector semi-wireframe style graphics, and although the game isn’t complex it does have power-ups, different alien formations and even a boss fight.

Have a play! And follow Pawel on twitter. Oh and when the game says “Press OK to Continue” it means “press Enter”.

I dunno, couldn’t get this shit running. Just a PlayJam logo and nothing more. And I’m sure would be amazed, when playing this.

Needless to say, it requires Flash Player 11, and a GPU capable of supporting that.

Looks awesome….unfortunately I am unable to interact with it.

Interact? You pressed ENTER to start the game, yeah? And then it’s just cursor keys to move. It auto fires.

Nevermind….I had to hit the Enter key. Rather confusing when it says to click ok.

Nice game. Maybe devs like shoot’em up genre so much because it’s of the simplest. Your Game Dev Tips was about making a shoot’em up. There are only two directions of movement, and simple interactions.

Some info in game that I need a Flash Player 11 could be useful.

Sorry this demo was developed in 2 weeks as AIR 3.0 for tv application that’s why it is not so desktop friendly and so simple:) (and there was ok on the remote control)
It is not special version for desktop it is exactly same code.
Worth to mention it was working well on hardware which was similar to iPad 2 or samsung galaxy s .

@Pawel: Nice work. I´d really like to know, how to create 3d-models. Did you use something like Blender?

Hey Martin, i will ask my colleague but i think he was using 3d studio + some flare3d plugin to export it.

Thanks for answering. I´ll try to get into Blender for some basic 3d-models.
